Eastern Travel Mart 2026 Kicks Off in Itahari to Promote Koshi Province Globally


Ithari: The sixth edition of the Eastern Travel Mart 2026 officially commence in Itahari on Saturday, aiming to connect the tourism potential of Koshi Province with the international market. The three-day event is being organized through a collaboration between the Nepal Tourism Board and the Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City.
Inaugurating the event, Koshi Province’s Minister for Tourism, Forests and Environment, Bhim Parajuli, highlighted the region’s rich natural, cultural, and religious assets. He expressed confidence that Koshi Province has the potential to emerge as a major gateway to Nepal’s tourism sector. “We are moving forward with a structured approach to develop and position the province at the international level,” he said. He also emphasized the region’s biodiversity, wetlands, and wildlife tourism opportunities, noting that it spans from the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, to the lowland plains of Kachankawal.
