Kathmandu: The foundation stone for the construction of the Ngagyur Nyingma Palyul Dhongag Chholing Monastery in Likhu Pike Rural Municipality, Solukhumbu district, Koshi Province, was jointly laid today by Ms. Mina Karki Basnet, Chairperson of Likhu Pike Rural Municipality, and Mr. Ajay Kumar Singh, Second Secretary at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu.
The monastery building is being constructed with financial assistance of approximately NPR 33 million from the Government of India under the High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) scheme. The project will be implemented through Likhu Pike Rural Municipality and is the sixth HICDP supported by India in Solukhumbu district.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chairperson of Likhu Pike Rural Municipality and other local stakeholders expressed appreciation for the Government of India’s continued developmental assistance. They said the new monastery building would help preserve and promote the area’s rich cultural and religious heritage while benefiting the local community.
